Purpose Of Lockwire 

Lock wire is an extremely versatile and useful tool for a wide variety of different industries. Nuts, bolts, and screws have the tendency to loosen themselves over long periods of time. The purpose of Lockwire is designed to ensure that fasteners remain tight and secure.

With a positive locking device that functions as a safety mechanism to prevent the loosening of fasteners. The lockwire is commonly threaded through the fasteners hole, twisted onto another part of the fastener and then twisted again.

Malin’s exclusive color-coded cans make it easy to identify their lockwire types. The blue canister is the famous stainless-steel lock wire. The yellow cans are Inconel lockwire. The orange canister is oxidized Inconel safety lockwire. And the red cans are Monel lock wire.

Each can is recyclable and molded from high-density polyethylene. Unlike the standard paper canisters, Malin’s canisters won’t degrade and will keep lock wire-free of grease and other corrosive materials. Lockwire from Malin Co is available in spools, coils, and bulk purchases.

Copper & Brass Breakaway Wire- Available in 1 lb. & 5 lb. Spools. Breakaway Wire is typically sold in the 1 lb. and 5 lb. spools. Other packaging options are available, including boxed coils, bulk coils, 1/4 lb Handi-Pak coils, custom spools, bulk spools, and bobbins.

General / Industrial Wire- Aluminum, Brass, Copper, Chromel, carbon (black, galvanized), Inconel, Monel,    Nickel, Nickel Silver, Stainless Steel (302, 303, 304, 304L, 316, 316L, 410, 430) Phosphorous Bronze, Nitinol, Titanium. Can quote other materials upon request.

Tie Wire- Tie wire applications are common among various industries. From construction to the lumber industry, tie wire is vital for securing objects together with this reliable binding wire.

Services Offered:

Straightened and Cut Wire- From .006” -.177” diameters and lengths from .500 to 10/ft. Length and diameter tolerances quoted upon request.

Electro Polished and Clean Wire- Diameters as fine as .006” to .041” diameter on spools.  The most commonly supplied wire is the 300 series of stainless steel.

Finishes – Matte, diamond drawn brite, centerless ground, and soap.

Wire Forming – Malin has also developed the ability to shape and form wire in all types of materials and configurations, no quantity is too small. We will set up and run both production and prototype quantities.

Barcoding 

Wire Drawing- Malin Company can now draw aluminum, brass, copper, stainless steel, and nickel alloys. Diameters down to .0016” and up to .250” diameter. We can also draw and process customer supplied wire as well.
